Iglesia Damasco was born in 2007. The first service was held on August 12, 2007, with a total attendance of 12 people. Pastor Salomon Ruano and Magda Ruano are the original church planters.
Iglesia Damasco welcomes everyone from the community. We are a bilingual church. The people in the congregation speak Spanish and/or English. But because some of our congregants may speak just one or the other our Sunday service is completely bi-lingual.
Wednesday night is our family night. Ministries; adults enjoy a bible study. Kids/youth have activities/ministries for them also.
Our Sunday services include a children’s church service that serves kids ages 3 to 12. Our 13 to 17-year youth also have a Sunday school class that meets each Sunday to teach them about the love of God and Bible based principles.
Our vision is: A better future for the family. Since family quality time is important to our church, we invested in preparing a soccer field and basketball court on the church grounds. Most Sunday evenings as weather permits church families and community friends can be found playing and having good times of fellowship.
We invite you to come visit Iglesia Damasco @ 3320 S. Montana Avenue, Caldwell, ID 83605.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is immutable from Genesis to Revelation (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe in God, the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. We believe that all three are one. 1 John5:7
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin woman. Jesus was crucified, died and resurrected on the third day; Ascended to heaven and now Is Seated at the right hand of God the Father. (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:30-35)
We believe that salvation comes through the repentance of a sins and the confession of sins; is given by divine grace (and not by works) and is Receive By faith in Christ Jesus. We believe that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men, (Acts 4:12)
We believe in the Second Coming of Christ for his people. That all the dead will be resurrected, (saved or unsaved) and that Christians who are alive will be snatched away by Jesus, and that everyone will pass through the judgment of God. The Believers will have life eternal with Jesus and the unbelievers Resurrect for eternal suffering. (Daniel 12:1-2 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 revelation 20:11-15)
We believe in the Sanctification as a Work Made Instantly In the spirit, but that it should be developed progressively in the soul and in the body by means of the son of God (Hebrews 12:14 Romans 6:19-22)
We believe in Baptism in the body of Christ, by which the person accepts Jesus, has a new birth and becomes part of the body of Christ and has eternal life,
We believe in water baptism as a symbol of identification with death (sin) and with Resurrection of Jesus for eternal Life, (Romans 6:4)
We believe in the baptism of the Spirit Holy with the evidence of speaking in other languages, and that through this baptism, it is received the power to be a witness of Christ to the whole world.
We think it's one of the ways of transmitting Blessing, healing, and power of God from one human being to another. (Facts 8:15-20 1 Timothy's 4:14 Timothy 1:6)
We believe in the five ministries of Acts 4:11 as the gifts given by God to the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11) Teacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet, apostle.
I am Salomon Ruano. and Magda have been pastoring Iglesia Damasco since 2007.
We have one daughter, Belen.
I grew up in El Salvador, Central America. I came to the USA as a young man escaping the civil war in El Salvador. I was called by God into ministry since my youth. I received Christ in my heart at the age of 15.
I immediately felt a passion for the lost souls.
I would preach in the streets of El Salvador.
Upon coming to USA I kept my Christian roots and sought a church right away.
As always, God kept calling me to serve and I obeyed.
Our church has been growing quickly and I continue to value God and family. Magda and I place a great emphasis on children and youth. We love our community and look for ways to serve
God inside and outside the church.
Our vision statement is: A better future for the Family.
Iglesia Damasco is committed to living, working, and serving God with other believers. We believe the Bible is God's infallible word.
We believe it is our privilege to share the Gospel wherever
we go to our family, friends, and community.
We believe God intended his church to share his heart, mind, and purpose, taking the good news of His love to a lost and dying world. We challenge all believers to shine the light of Jesus where we live, work, and play. We believe that a family that serves God is a happy family.
We invest in our family's future through children's ministries, youth ministries, bible studies, and leadership development.
