Iglesia Damasco was born in 2007. A calling from God to pastor Salomon and Magda Ruano. They are faithful servants of the Lord and they stepped out in faith. Iglesia Damasco held its first service on August 12, 2007. The first service had a total attendance of 12 people. Pastor Salomon and Magda were praying for God to send musicians as neither he nor she had a musical talent. Four months later in November Iglesia Damasco hosted its first evangelical rally with special speaker Tony Caceres who at that time was serving with Cristo Viene Ministries out of Puerto Rico.
God is faithful. Pastor Magda often states that God, as always, provided more than what we asked for in petition. We had asked for a piano and a guitar. God sent a whole worship band; keyboard, base guitar, drum, congas, and singers. God is good and always provides above what we can imagine.
Iglesia Damasco welcomes everyone from the surrounding community. We are a bilingual church. Our congregation is made up mostly of people who speak Spanish and English both. But because some of our congregants may speak just one or the other our Sunday service is completely bi-lingual. Thursday nights is our English Only service. While we value our Hispanic roots, we recognize that many of our people may want to enjoy a service completely in English. This is a service for all ages, and all are welcome.
Recently Iglesia Damasco has started the ministry of Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries on Wednesday nights. This ministry is for boys and girls from pre-school to 12th grade. It provides a club type atmosphere where boys and girls interact with other kids their own age and learn biblical principals and godly character traits.
Wednesday night is our family night. While boys and girls are in Royal Rangers or Girls Ministries; adults enjoy a bible study.
Our Sunday services include a children’s church service that serves kids ages 3 to 12. Our 13 to 17-year youth also have a Sunday school class that meets each Sunday to teach them about the love of God and Bible based principles.
Since family quality time is important to our church in 2015, we invested in preparing a soccer field and basketball court on the church grounds. Most Sunday evenings as weather permits church families and community friends can be found playing and having good times of fellowship.
We invite you to come visit Iglesia Damasco @ 3320 S. Montana Avenue, Caldwell, ID 83605.
God loves you and desires for you and your family to have a better future.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is immutable from Genesis to Revelation (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe in God, the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. We believe that all three are one. 1 John5:7
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin woman. Jesus was crucified, died and resurrected on the third day; Ascended to heaven and now Is Seated at the right hand of God the Father. (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:30-35)
We believe that salvation comes through the repentance of a sins and the confession of sins; is given by divine grace (and not by works) and is Receive By faith in Christ Jesus. We believe that Jesus is the only mediator between God and men, (Acts 4:12)
We believe in the Second Coming of Christ for his people. That all the dead will be resurrected, (saved or unsaved) and that Christians who are alive will be snatched away by Jesus, and that everyone will pass through the judgment of God. The Believers will have life eternal with Jesus and the unbelievers Resurrect for eternal suffering. (Daniel 12:1-2 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 revelation 20:11-15)
We believe in the Sanctification as a Work Made Instantly In the spirit, but that it should be developed progressively in the soul and in the body by means of the son of God (Hebrews 12:14 Romans 6:19-22)
We believe in Baptism in the body of Christ, by which the person accepts Jesus, has a new birth and becomes part of the body of Christ and has eternal life,
We believe in water baptism as a symbol of identification with death (sin) and with Resurrection of Jesus for eternal Life, (Romans 6:4)
We believe in the baptism of the Spirit Holy with the evidence of speaking in other languages, and that through this baptism, it is received the power to be a witness of Christ to the whole world.
We think it's one of the ways of transmitting Blessing, healing, and power of God from one human being to another. (Facts 8:15-20 1 Timothy's 4:14 Timothy 1:6)
We believe in the five ministries of Acts 4:11 as the gifts given by God to the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11) Teacher, pastor, evangelist, prophet, apostle.
